The Swiss National Library began issuing URN:NBNs in 2003. These URNs are assigned to all digital objects the library collects and preserves for the long term, including online university publications (e.g., dissertations), digitized audio-documents, e-books and e-journal issues, website snapshots, Wikipedia articles, and inventories from the Swiss Literary Archives.
The Swiss National Library uses the German National Library's URN:NBN resolver: URN:NBN Resolver für Deutschland und die Schweiz.
The Policy is published on the website of the Swiss National Library (in German and French only).
