National Library of Czech Republic

The National Library of the Czech Republic (NKP) started issuing URN:NBNs in 2012. URNs are assigned to digitised or born digital documents (e-books or e-journal issues and also articles) or audio documents, such as gramophone records or phonograph cylinders. The NKP has developed a tool called CZIDLO, which is a system for the permanent identification of digital documents. Currently, there are over 100 registrants of the CZIDLO service - museums, archives, libraries or other memory institutions, whose collection contain Czech cultural heritage.
